An STL describes a triangle surface, but it does not reliably store units, material, tolerances or intended use. BAUMS reviews those details before production.

Is my STL uploaded to a server?
No. The viewer parses and renders it in this browser. A short-lived device-only copy is created only when you choose to carry the model to the estimate page. The file is sent to BAUMS only after you submit a final-review request.
Why does the viewer ask about millimeters or inches?
STL geometry contains coordinates but no dependable unit declaration. Selecting the original design unit prevents a one-inch model from being interpreted as one millimeter.
Can the viewer prove that my part is printable?
No. It provides geometry information and limited mesh warnings, not a complete manufacturability decision. BAUMS reviews the intended use and production setup separately.
Can BAUMS repair or modify an STL?
Often, yes. Start a project and explain what needs to change. The file, desired dimensions and intended use help define the right scope.
